Interior plywood

Interior plywood is a non-structural appearance grade suitable for internal wall panelling, furniture and fittings, interior door skins and ceiling lining.

Interior plywood manufactured to AS2270 has either a Type C or Type D bond. Both bonds are non-durable under full exposure to weather or to wet or damp environments. These bonds are durable under fully protected interior non-structural environments. Type C bonded interior plywood should be used in high humidity areas such as bathrooms, and in the tropics. Type D bonded interior plywood is satisfactory for interior applications under normal humidity conditions.

Interior plywood must not be used in fully exposed, wet or damp environments, or in permanent structural applications.

Two standard face grades are produced:

  • A grade, suitable for clear finishing
  • B grade, suitable for painting.

Standard grades of interior plywood are AD and BD.

Interior plywood should be branded with the "PAA/JAS-ANZ" interior plywood product certification stamp.
