Sizes and profiles of external timber cladding boards

Timber cladding boards are generally produced in widths between 150 mm and 200 mm. Boards wider than 200 mm are rarely used because of the increased risk of cupping or splitting. The most popular weatherboard sections and their commonly used names are shown in Figure 1. The dimensions, details and names of these profiles may vary slightly between regions or manufacturers.
