Manual - R - Values for Timber Framed Building Elements

A key to sustainable construction is achieving a high thermal performance in the building’s external envelope.

The insulating properties of common timber construction arrangement is available in a manual entitled R-Values for Timber Framed Building Elements

This publication provides authoritative estimates of the R-value of common building construction elements incorporating timber framed construction. These may be required to satisfy minimum thermal performance design standards introduced by State and Local government building regulatory authorities throughout Australia.

Prepared by Dr Terry Williamson of the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Adelaide, the brochure is easy to follow and highly graphical.
